CDA classes will now be open to anyone wanting to take just one or more of the trainings.  The fee is $25 per class, held each Wednesday night starting Jan 18, 2012 from 5:30 pm to 9:00 pm at the Farm & Home Center, Oriskany.

Jan 18 - "Professionalism" - topic areas 3, 4

Jan 25 - "Early Childhood Resources and Research" - topic area 5

Health & Safety Competency Training for Family/Group Family Child Care Providers:

January 7, 9 & 10 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day @ Farm and Home Center, Oriskany
March 12, 13, & 14 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day @ Canastota Library, Canastota
Fee: $260 reimbursable through SUNY Health & Safety Rebate upon registration. Please note that payment must be received via money order or bank cashier's check.  This training fulfills the mandatory 15 hour Health & Safety training requirement necessary to become a NYS regulated family or group family child care provider. Literacy Rich Environments Project Overview
The Literacy Rich Environments Project will include information on how children learn literacy through the environment and the relationship between literacy and cultural diversity. This overview will include information on the ITA project that will include how to build a rich environment that includes literacy in every area of learning. The Literacy Rich Environment includes cultural diversity, non-stereotypical roles, family compositions and individuals with special needs. We will look at environmental print, writing, reading, choosing appropriate books/materials and setting up a classroom to encourage emergent literacy.

Medication Administration Training
This course is a mandatory component of gaining NYS certification to administer medications to the children in your program.
