1) CDA classes will be open to anyone wanting to take just one or more of the trainings. There is a $25 fee for each class, held every Wednesday night from 5:30 pm to 9:00 pm at the Farm & Home Center in Oriskany. 2.5 training credit will be earned for each class attended.

2) Health & Safety Competency Training for Family/Group Family Child Care Providers
This training fulfills the mandatory 15 hour Health & Safety training requirement necessary to become a NYS regulated family or group family child care provider. Presented by a NYS certified Health & Safety trainer.

January 7, 9 & 10 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day @ Farm and Home Center, Oriskany
March 12, 13, & 14 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day @ Canastota Library, Canastota
Fee: $260 reimbursable through SUNY Health & Safety Rebate upon registration. Please note that payment must be received via money order or bank cashier's check.  Contact Tammy at 223-7850 ext 222 for more information.

3) Literacy Rich Environments Project Overview
The Literacy Rich Environments Project will include information on how children learn literacy through the environment and the relationship between literacy and cultural diversity. This overview will include information on the ITA project that will include how to build a rich environment that includes literacy in every area of learning. The Literacy Rich Environment includes cultural diversity, non-stereotypical roles, family compositions and individuals with special needs. We will look at environmental print, writing, reading, choosing appropriate books/materials and setting up a classroom to encourage emergent literacy. Dates, times & locations:  Thurs., January 12 from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. @ Farm and Home Center, Oriskany.  Call Tammy at 223-7850 x 222 for more information or to register for this FREE event!


4) Medication Administration Training
This course is a mandatory component of gaining NYS certification to administer medications to the children in your program.

 Dates, time & locations for MAT classes:

 Sat., January 7, 2012 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. @ Farm & Home Center, Oriskany
Fri., January 13, 2012 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. @ Farm & Home Center, Oriskany (Independent Study)
MAT Fee: $120, non-refundable. The independent study MAT course tuition is $80.

5) New Provider Training:
