[Tccc-providers] seeking volunteers to serve on a panel

Does anyone have a tried and true strategy for engaging parents to their child's education?, have a special connection to parents of their enrolled children? We need you!
Cornell sponsors a program called "Connecting with Kids" that provides free sessions once or twice a year.

In late March (an evening presentation) the topic will be "How to Engage Parents as Partners in their Child's Education". We are looking for a team of three to sit on a panel: an administrator (owner/director), a teacher and a parent from one site to serve as panel member to present their view on a model program that engages parents. We are hoping to recruit this team of 3 from a center based, family or group family program. When first approached I thought of a Head Start because I know they work hard on this component. However, because it IS required for the HS programs to do this, the organizers were hoping to get a program that has implemented something without it being required.
The session will be held at Cornell Cooperative Extension in Oneida County in late March 2013. If you are interested, please contact me by phone or email.
