2013 Professional Development Scholarships
FCCANYS will award five $250 Professional Development Scholarships to help assist access to high caliber training and networking opportunities at the FCCANYS 22nd Annual Conference on Friday & Saturday, April 19 & 20, 2013 at the Villa Roma Resort & Conference Center in Callicoon, NY.

                 FCCANYS Professional Development Scholarship Criteria/Requirements:
                    * Applicant must be a registered family child care provider or licensed group family child care provider.
* Submit a cover letter containing your Name, Program Name, Address, County, Telephone #,
Email Address, NYS OCFS License #, Expiration Date, # of Years in Business
* Submit an essay (200 words or less) expressing why professional development is vital for providing quality child care and how it enhances to your child care setting.
* Submission Deadline: Cover Letter & Essay must be submitted electronically to admin at fccanys.org<mailto:admin at fccanys.org>  by February 15, 2013.

The five Scholarship Recipients will be notified by February 21, 2013.

FCCANYS Professional Development Scholarships can be used to defray the cost of attending the 22nd Annual FCCANYS Conference on April 19 & 20, 2013 (conference registration including all meals, hotel accommodations, travel expenses, etc).  The scholarship recipients will be acknowledged while receiving their award check on Friday evening, April 19, 2013 at Villa Roma Resort & Conference Center.  In the event a scholarship applicant is unable to attend the 22nd Annual FCCANYS Conference the selection committee will award the scholarship to another applicant.  2013 Maria Otto Scholarship - Apply Today!
FCCANYS is offering the Maria Otto Scholarship to a provider who is a current member that has been working in the child care field and follows the spirit & enthusiasm that Maria Otto exhibited in the child care community.  The applicant should be someone who would not be able to afford attending the conference without the scholarship funds. The applicant must be actively involved with their local child care community.
The FCCANYS Maria Otto Conference Scholarship was established in 1999. Maria Otto worked tirelessly throughout her career to improve the professional status and recognition of providers throughout NYS.
She was recognized as one of the earliest experts in the field of family child care. Maria was a co-founder of FCCANYS.  The 2013 Maria Otto Scholarship recipient receives: Complimentary FCCANYS Conference registration to the 21st Annual FCCANYS Conference being held at the Villa Roma Resort & Conference Center in Callicoon, NY on April 19 & 20, 2013 & Two nights Lodging at the Villa Roma Resort (Additional costs of transportation & incidentals are the responsibility of the individual.) Submission must include: Letter nominating yourself or another provider - explain how you/they fulfill these qualities; Reference letter from someone in the childcare field attesting to applicants involvement/traits; Name, address, county, region, phone number & email address; copy of your current License/Registration.
 The Maria Otto recipient would agree to the following: Donate 1 hour of their time during the conference for assistance to the FCCANYS & write a brief article for the newsletter about their conference experience.  Previous recipients of the Maria Otto Scholarship are not eligible.  Please send the nomination letter postmarked by 2/15/13 to: FCCANYS Scholarship Committee c/o Chrissy Eighmy 52 Lorraine Dr. Rhinebeck, NY 12572 Maria Otto Scholarship Recipient will be notified by February 21st.
