To all, 

We have a unique opportunity for child care staff who may be interested in
starting to attain their Associates Degree. In recognizing that some
returning adults are nervous about going on campus, MVCC has agreed to
partner with us by holding a 3-credit Intro to Human Services (required for
a degree in Early Childhood Edu) classes here in our RM D of our bldg. The
class will be offered at a reduced cost of $360 (typically $450 on campus).
This is EIP eligible.

They need a minimum of 10 people registered to hold the class so if you have
anyone who has been thinking about this, please let them know. Dana Hubbard
will be here (121 Second St) from 6-9PM on Dec 13 and classes will be held
on Monday evenings from 6-8:50 starting in Jan 2011. 

Please read the press release below. This is a unique opportunity that we
hope people will take advantage of. The first couple weeks it will be
"closed registration" meaning it is going to be offered to the early
childhood community exclusively. Then it will be opened to general public.
The maximum in the class will be 20 so it is ideal for someone who is a bit
nervous about returning to school, with small class size, cheaper tuition
and at a site you are all familiar with.

MVCC Partners with Cornell Cooperative Extension 

to Provide College Level Courses 

Mohawk Valley Community College (MVCC) and Cornell Cooperative Extension
(CCE) Oneida County are pleased to announce a new collaboration that will
provide area residents the opportunity to take college courses onsite at
CCE.

The program will kick off in Spring 2011 with Human Services 101 (HS101):
Introduction to Human Services. HS101 provides an exploration of the broad
field of human services and is well-suited for those interested in pursuing
a career in Human Services or Child Care.  The 3-credit class meets Mondays
at CCE beginning January 24 until May 9, from 6:00-9:00pm.  The cost is
$360.  

MVCC and CCE will continue their partnership in Fall 2011 and expand
offerings to include additional credit programs for residents interested in
the construction trades.

Registration for the upcoming HS101 class will take place on December 13 at
Oneida County Cornell Cooperative Extension, 121 Second Street, Oriskany,
