Today is my first day back from maternity leave.  I am not sure if my fill in responded (she is off today) but if not our center will be interested in this training.  We have 18 in our preschool class.  Thanks!

Subject: [Tricountydirectorsgroup] Fit 5 Kids! a FREE Training

MYCCCC is happy to sponsor the New York State Department of Health in providing a unique training FREE to childcare staff.  FIT 5 Kids!!  A TV Viewing Reduction Curriculum for Preschool Children ages 3-5 years.  The Fit 5 Kids Reduction of TV Viewing Preschool Curriculum has been shown to reduce preschool children’s hours of television/video viewing at home.  Fit 5 Kids is a 7- week curriculum designed to develop skills and concepts in the areas of Language Arts, Math, Movement and Song, Arts and Crafts and Health and Safety.  The curriculum promotes children’s exploration of alternatives to TV viewing, and provides a series of take-home activities to engage parents and children.  
 
Training includes one curriculum manual per site, lesson materials for each teacher, and a copy of The Berenstain Bears and Too Much TV book for each child in your class.  
 
The Training will be Tuesday June 8, 2010 from 9:00 am until 12 noon at the MYCCCC offices, 121 Second Street, Oriskany NY.  
Enrollment for this FREE Training is limited to the first 18 respondents.  
Please respond by May 25, 2010 if you are interested in attending the training, and include the number of children in your classroom.
