We recvd this notice about a provider training for those who might be caring
for children of military personnel. I am sharing it with you in case you are
interested in sending someone or going yourself.

I am posting this free provider training to our website soon.  The training
is in Latham NY (Albany area) but providers from Syracuse or Spring Valley
may also be interested.  The flyer is attached and has all the relevant
info. Perhaps a few can be copied and given to providers during visits?

Hello, Kathleen. 

Thanks for writing.  The NY Duty to Care: Supporting Young Children through
Challenging Times is scheduled for August 18 -19 in Latham, NY.

 

It is a two day training, 8:00 am to 4:00 pm.   This training is free and is
sponsored by the Department of Defense and conducted by Zero to Three.
Civilian professionals are invited to attend.  

 

The training addresses how professionals serving military (Service, National
Guard and Reserve active duty) families with very young children can support
military families dealing with the losses and trauma of  parent separation,
injury or death, and ways to promote resiliency.   CEUS are available and
ZTT pays for the CEU fee.   Certificates of attendance are provided as well.
Continental breakfasts and lunches provided each day.

Look for the NY training on the registration calendar.  

We are so happy you are promoting this training.  Our goal is to bring the
military and civilian family support resources together on behalf of young
children and their parents who are working in the military.  Typical
audiences include child care, mental health, health and family support
professionals from the military and civilian communities.
