Dear Ms. Kinney-Kitchen,

This fall, Grassroots Environmental Education, a non-profit organization under contract to the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation, is presenting a series of free one-day training programs to help schools and day care centers comply with New York State law, which prohibits the use of most pesticides on school and day care center grounds.

This free, entry-level course is designed to help groundskeepers and contracted landscapers learn the basic techniques for managing fields and grounds using alternatives to conventional pesticides, and without conventional pesticides.

Courses are being given at six locations across New York State. All attendees will receive course materials and lunch. DEC recertification credits are available.

I am reaching out to you to seek your assistance in helping to make your members (and their personnel who manage grounds) aware of these free training programs. In a following email I am attaching a promotional graphic, in case you have the opportunity to include information about the training program in a newsletter, web site or email message to your membership.
