Boogers, Belches and Bottoms - Children's Humor
March 29th 2014
8:30am-10:30am
This session will be dedicated to the things that children find interesting and sometimes just plain funny. We'll address what's developmentally appropriate for children at different ages as well as learn to deal with issues when they occur in child care, school and at home.

Dance with me, Play with me but DON'T BEAT ME

We know that dancing and playing with children is the norm, not abusing.  We will review the regulations, discuss and review the identification and prevention of child abuse and maltreatment through case studies and look at ways we can dance and play with children to keep them safe!

Put the FUN back in Circle Time
April 28th 2014
6pm-8pm
Whether you are tired of the same circle time every day (calendar, weather, helper of the day--the usual) or you don't really have circle time in your program but would like to create that large-group time, this is the session for you!  We will talk about how long circle time should be, what activities are appropriate and what to avoid.  You will also walk away with templates for interactive stories and songs and games to play with children during this very important part of your day!

Cut the Patterns; Open Ended Art!
May 15th 2014
6pm-8pm

If your art projects take you more time to prep than it does for the children to complete them, chances are you're using close-ended projects.  We will talk about the importance of open-ended art, how to tell the difference between the two and then have LOTS of hands on examples of open-ended projects you can incorporate into any age group and any theme!
