<i><span style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:"Arial","sans-serif";color:black">Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders (FASD)
</span></i><span style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:"Arial","sans-serif";color:black">is an all inclusive term for birth defects caused by maternal consumption of alcohol during pregnancy. This training will provide an overview on FASD including: terminology,
myths, causes of FASD, effects of alcohol on the developing fetus, the importance of early diagnosis and FAS diagnostic criteria. The training will also provide participants with information on primary and secondary disabilities caused by prenatal exposure
to alcohol. Strategies and interventions to help children and adults living with a FASD will be discussed, as well as information regarding screening tools and resources to assist in prevention and treatment.
